History: In all ways Sam was an average kid growing up, from his personality to his looks their was nothing that would set him apart from a crowd. Blending in and fitting in, Sam always saw it as a problem. Always wanting to be different, to be noticed. So although he was well liked and always had many friends, he found himself looking for ways to be different. Going through every cliché in highschool he was annoyed to find their was always someone who would copy, and again he blended in.
Although it died down a little as he grew up the urge never left him, and when he heard of the project he was ecstatic. Instantly signing up to be changed, to be different. Sure their would be others signing up but that was the minority. He would still be different to most, and that he could settle with.
The procedure went by without a hitch and when he regained conscience he couldn’t be happier. It took him a while to realize what his powers actually were and even longer to control them, use them to his own advantage. When he was released back into the city Sam couldn’t help but show off his powers. But the bad reaction he got soon stopped his open showing off, but he still refused to be the norm. So Sam became a street performer using his gift to do tricks for the wide audience, gathering big crowds every time.
Sample: Stretching out on the park bench Sam yawned widely. It was only early evening but yet he was already tired, the days shows having took his energy. He was in the park, such a relaxing spot especially if you ignore the rubbish. Today the pigeon he had chosen to take part in a mind control act hadn’t cooperated, instead it cursed him before flying off. How a bird got such a vocabulary he would never know, probably learnt it from the pedestrians.
Rubbing his hand through his messy hair, Sam sighed before getting up. Suppose its time to go home he thought as he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. The tiny flat he rented wasn’t far away, a small one bedroom flat above a coffee shop. It wasn’t much but it was home, and the constant scent of fresh coffee was nice.
Turning along the road he considered using his power to get him home, the speed of a cheetah would be good. But he managed to block off the inner show off, settling with taking a ride on his bike when he got back. Now the bike was another thing he loved, tearing down the roads was his second favorite thing to do. The first using his powers. Although he had heard of other, I guess you could say super heroes, using their powers for bad. Sam had never seen one, the streets seemed pretty calm to him. The idea though angered him, the thought that someone could abuse their special gift was shock.
Pressing his key into the keyhole of the flat, he thought back to the day he heard the news. The silent pledge he made to stop anyone who abused their powers. I hope for my sake that day never comes
